The Dragon Age 2 game title was removed from Steam soon after the release of the Legacy DLC for the game. Electronic Arts explained that the game has been removed from the online games retailer because of its Steam's policy regarding patch and DLC releases.

Steam is a subsidiary of Valve, which aims to remain in total control over everything on their platform. “Unfortunately, Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to sell downloadable content. No other download service has adopted this practice. Consequently some of our games have been removed by Steam,” the company said.

The company expressed optimism that it will be able to come to an agreement to keep its games on Steam. The move from Stream is similar to what happened earlier with Crysis 2. Experts believe that the disagreement is due to EA’s attempt to sell title from within the game rather than through hosting website Steam.
