Railways have proclaimed of offering sugar-free and starch-free food for the diabetic patients in case of train journeys.

The programme at the moment is offered on a small scale and has been initiated in just a few trains to mark as a pilot project before it is offered to various other trains.

The IRCTC department has been offering catering service, and it is also the new facility would be claimed in all Kolkata-bound Rajdhani and Duronto trains at the same.

It has been stated that this move has been made in case of offering better catering policy that is offered by Railways, this as per the authorities the catering services will be taken care by railways of its instead of its subsidiary unit of IRCTC.

It has been stated that the orders for the diabetic meals have to be ordered at the time of ticket booking. Diabetic menu is considered to be an notion which was present from an early age and many of diabetic passengers who travel in AC-I in some Rajdhani trains already have this facility.
