Computing giant, Dell has said that it will remain committed to the Personal Computer market even as its rival HP is looking to spin ff its PC operations.

While delivering his Keynote at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, Michael Dell, chief executive of Dell outlined the gains from making and selling PCs. He said that reduced costs due to large scale production ahs helped the company offer servers at a lower rate.

"There are many reasons to stay committed to personal computing. It seems these days not everyone is so totally committed... used to say the computer is personal again, I guess you might take that personally if you brought a PC from them," Dell said.

He pointed out that PCs account for 95 percent of all disks and processors sold while the other five percent goes into servers and storage. He added that his company increases demand for these components and thus the prices are low.
