Delhi’s airport a high-tech builtThe national capital boasts of a newly made world-class Rs 9,000 crore airport that is planned to accommodate both domestic and international operations and will soon be able to take care of 34 million passengers annually.

The present report on the new terminal or Terminal 3 (T3) ranks it to be sixth largest in the world, was ribbon cut by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who added that Indian aviation sector is soon to witness upto USD 120 billion of investment by 2020.

A few of the key guests who honored their presence in the occasion were, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

It is an effort of GMR group that has led to the success of its T3 built backed by support of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). It is said to have a spread of over 4 kms where 80 per cent of T3 is made of glass and supported by metal frames. It is a nine level terminal building that shall be employed for 90 per cent of the entire passenger movement in the airport.
