DDA Investigation Committee Submits Report On HSG Scam

DDA Investigation Committee Submits Report On HSG ScamThe internal enquiry committee of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which investigated the alleged irregularities in its housing plan, has submitted its report on Friday.

For further action, the report will be sent to the Urban Development Minister, Jaipal Reddy.

Neemo Dhar, DDA spokesperson, stated, “The committee submitted the report to vice-chairman A K Nigam today. Now, we will send it to the minister who had set up the probe committee.”

The committee was formed after the alleged irregularity emerged during the draw of lots for 5,238 DDA flats on Dec 16, 2008.

Previously, it was given two extensions.

At first, the committee was likely to present its report by January 24. At that time, it was granted seven-day extension. But when it again failed to finish the investigation, it was again given 15-day extension.

Mr. Dhar preferred not to reveal any information regarding the committee’s report.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police is also inquiring a complaint that a cartel of property dealers were trying to corner DDA flats reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) applicants.

The EOW has so far arrested seven people in the housing scam.
