DBS CEO Stanley diagnosed with leukemiaSingapore  - Singapore bank DBS Group Holdings said Thursday its Chief Executive Officer Richard Stanley has been diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia and will be commencing medical treatment immediately.

Stanley, 48, was admitted to a Singapore hospital on Tuesday, after he felt ill last Friday, said DBS in a statement.

Prior to joining DBS in May 2008, Stanley was certified with a clean bill of health, said the statement.

Stanley and DBS Chief Financial Officer Chng Sok Hui had recently completed a series of investor meetings in Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States and Europe, in connection with DBS' 4-billion-Singapore-dollar (2.66-billion-US-dollar) rights issue.

Stanley, a US citizen, was CEO of Citigroup China before he moved to DBS in Singapore. (dpa)
