CWG closing ceremony to be even more spectacular
Bharat Bala is the creative head for the Games opening and closing ceremonies. Today he condemned Doordarshan's coverage of the opening, saying it had fallen short of opportunity.
In an interview to The Telegraph, he said he had requested DD to re-telecast the ceremony "effortlessly" (without advertisement breaks).
Bala claimed that the public broadcaster has agreed to his request. It is also believed to be contemplating the number of ad breaks all through the closing ceremony telecast on October 14.
Bala, a Tamil filmmaker, said his team had barely two and a half practices for the reason that they got the stadium so late. This has been a learning experience those 8,000 performers, two and a half rehearsals at the venue, they just magically did it.
He highly praised the 60,000 viewers at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for rejoicing the ceremony.
The construction setbacks at the stadium had strained the creative team to seize rehearsals at Delhi cantonment's army parade ground. Hardly a week ago, was the first dress rehearsal held at the stadium.
