CPI-M youth wing's calender features Sourav Ganguly
The former India captain Sourav Ganguly unveiled the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)'s youth wing Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) calendar for 2009 in his Behala residence on Friday.
Ganguly's presence on the cover again triggered speculation that he was planning to join active politics.
Chairman of Rajarhat Municipality and CPI-M leader Tapas Chatterjee said," Sourav is doing this for a novel cause. It&aposs a calendar about blood donation. Last year, (former Bengal chief minister) Jyoti Basu featured on our calendar. This time, I requested him (Ganguly) to pose and he agreed."
Tapas Chatterjee added, "We wanted to do something new this year. So we struck upon this idea. We have taken Ganguly's approval before publishing the calendar."
