Couple Married for 68 Years admitted separately in Hospital now Reunited

A couple from Georgia, US, who has been married for 68 years, has never stayed apart except one time when Tom Clark, 96, an Army vet, was serving in Korea. Tom and his wife, Arnisteen, 92, were admitted into Piedmont Fayette Hospital for separate health complications. Being apart was hard; being moved by their condition, one of the hospital workers helped them reunite.

Earlier this month, both of them were admitted in different rooms on the orthopedic surgical floor. Staying always together except one time made it very difficult for the couple to remain apart. Even the hospital staff could not see their condition.

Charlsie Niemiec, the hospital's social media specialist, said, "Because they were on the orthopedic surgical floor, none of those rooms have double occupancy so they couldn't be together, and it was clearly breaking their hearts".

Tina Mann, manager of the floor, went way beyond her duty and took special visitation rights. After taking the permission, Tom was able to visit his wife's room for a few hours every day. For Tom, it was everything to see his life- partner.

Tom said that he cannot stay away from her. They will be discharged today and will be sent to a rehab facility. The hospital wrote on its Facebook page that they are hoping that both of them will recover soon and spend many more happy years together.
