Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls Klean Kanteen water bottle spoutsA voluntary recall has been announced by the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission of Klean Kanteen water bottle spouts due to a choking hazard.

It has been reported that about 1.2 million Sport Cap 2.0 water bottle spouts were imported from China by Klean Kanteen Inc. of Chico, Calif., and sold nationwide from April 2009 through April 2010 for $5 for a spout and up to $28 for a spout sold with a stainless steel water bottle.

The spouts can break, posing a choking hazard to adults and children, the commission said.

It was further reported that the spouts are made of black plastic. "Klean Kanteen" is stamped on the side of the cap.

It has been advised to consumers to stop using the recalled spouts and contact the company for a free replacement. (With Inputs from Agencies)
