B Gopal, the party's candidate from Anekal near Bangalore is hopeful that the he would be the choice of the people considering a prime base of 25, 000 votes, and is confident that development issues would help him in registering his success.
“Houses meant for the weaker sections have not been distributed. Drainage work remains incomplete. Roads and sanitation problem is adding to woes. Under the JD
(S)-BJP rule, ration cards were not distributed to the deserving families,” said B Gopal.
“I am confident of having a walk over all other contestants. Congress will definitely win,” Gopal said confidently.
When asked why he hopped over to Congress from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Gopal said that he was disgusted with Mayawati's leadership.
“She (Mayawati) ditched me. She never appointed any inquiry committee to ascertain the charges leveled against me and I had no other option but to quit. At least in Congress, I have earned and regained my respect,” he said. (ANI)
