Congress communalized terror, not BJP: Shahnawaz Hussain
New Delhi, Nov 23 : Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday said that it was the history of the Congress party to communalize the terror when Indira Gandhi used to be the prime minister of the country.
Speaking on the issue of the arrest of Sadhvi Pagnya Thakur for her suspected involvement in the Malegaon blast, he said: “Going by terminology, the leaders of the Congress have been calling Satwant and Beant Singh, “Sikhs”, Afzal Guru, “a Muslim”. And, now, they have invented a new word “Hindu terror”. So it''s a history of the Congress to communalize the terrorism,” said Shahnawaz Hussain, who is also the President of BJP''s Minority Cell.
Shahnawaz’s allegation holds significance as it has come following the statement of Congress‘s media cell chief Veerappa Moily’s reacting over the Opposition leader L. K. Advani raising the issue of Pragnya during an election rally being targeted by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra.
Moily had described Advani''s intervention into a case under investigation as ''politicizing the terror''.
Hussain had earlier criticized the Mumbai Police''s ATS and has demanded that Pragnya and other accused including Colonel Purohit be invested by a judicial probe and not by the ATS.
“Congress is leaking out the information that it wants to and not the rest…all is being done to gain a political mileage out of it, since elections are taking place in Madhya Pradesh, from where the accused have been arrested,” Hussain pointed while demanding a “fair” and “transparent” investigation which is not influenced by anyone.
