New Delhi [India], Feb 27 : Kyocera Corporation has announced that Hideo Tanimoto will be promoted to president, effective April 1, following a unanimous vote of its board of directors held today.
Tanimoto, currently director and managing executive officer, will become Kyocera's president, representative director and executive officer taking over from Goro Yamaguchi, who will become chairman and representative director.
During his 35 years with the company, Tanimoto has been instrumental in developing innovative new materials and manufacturing processes as an engineer in the fine ceramic components business.
He was appointed general manager of the company's Corporate Fine Ceramics Group in 2014 and joined the board of directors in 2016.
New Delhi [India], Feb 27 : Kyocera Corporation has announced the release of TORQUEÂ® X01, a rugged feature phone for Japanese service provider KDDI Corporation.
The TORQUE X01 is the latest in Kyocera's international portfolio of rugged devices that offers ultimate toughness. The 4G LTETM device is compliant with 18 categories of military standard 810G durability testing, as defined by the United States Department of Defense.
It is also certified as IPX5/IPX8 waterproof and IP6X dustproof, and has additionally passed a proprietary Kyocera drop test from a height of 1.8 meters onto a steel plate and concrete.

New Delhi [India], Jan. 27 : Kyocera Corporation announced the release of the new Rafre Smartphone for Japanese service provider, KDDI Corporation. The product is a successor to the original DIGNO Rafre, which launched in December 2015 as the world's first hand-soap-washable smart phone.
In addition to resistance against foaming hand soap, the second-generation model possesses resistance to foaming body soap. The product will be available from March 2017 in Japan, and will be offered in three colors: Pale Pink, Clear White and Light Blue.
Like its predecessor, the new Rafre features resistance to hot water and a touch screen that can be used even when the user's hands are wet or when wearing gloves.
Kyodo [Japan], Dec.2 : Kyocera Connector Products Corporation recently announced that it has developed a 0.5mm-pitch flexible printed circuit / flexible flat cable (FPC/FFC) connector with a suite of features to enhance productivity in robust assembly operations.
The new 6811-Series has already gone on sale.
Mobile phones and related devices have created rising demand for smaller, thinner FPC/FFC connectors. These connectors require delicate handling in the assembly process and may be damaged by improper insertion or unintentional manual contacts with certain parts. Kyocera's highly robust 6809 Series electronic connectors, introduced in 2014, were designed with this challenge in mind and have performed well.
Kyodo [Japan], Dec.2 : Kyocera announced the opening of its annual illumination event which will be held from December 1 through December 25 at its headquarters in Kyoto, Japan.
A seasonal outdoor lighting event, Kyocera has been presenting festive lighting in the public space in front of its building and a giant Christmas tree display to help invigorate the community.
Since 2006, the area in the public garden in front of the building has always been illuminated by LEDs to produce an ethereal and fantastic night.
The use of roughly 190,000 LEDs of various colours and the 86-meter tall Christmas tree have created an east to west decoration.
The illumination of the Christmas tree will start on December 12.
