JLR launches new version of Range Rover in IndiaPremium carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), which is a unit of Tata Motors, has announced the launch of a new version of its new premium sports utility vehicle Range Rover in the growing Indian luxury car market.

JLR said in a statement that, "The highly-acclaimed all-new Range Rover is offering Indian customers increased powertrain choice with the introduction of the new 3.0 TDV6 diesel engine."

JLR Chief Executive Ralf Speth said, "Our first priority is China. And then we can do one of the other steps. We have to do it in a certain sequence. Starting a plant is not just about higher volumes."

However, Speth didn't provide details of when the Chinese plant, which is being constructed with local partner Chery Automobile, would commence production.

The company's sales rose by whopping 74 per cent during January 2013 compared to the same month of the previous year.  The company's sales in Asia-pacific region grew 46 per cent in the month compared to January of 2012.

JLR starts manufacturing Jaguar XF saloon in PunePune, Jan 21: Auto major Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Monday announced the production of its indigenously-built Jaguar XF saloon model at its Pune plant here.

The first models rolling out of the plant will feature its acclaimed 2.2-litre diesel engine being introduced in the Indian market, said JLR India vice-president Rohit Suri.

The production of Jaguar XF will be in addition to the Land Rover Freelander 2 which is being produced in Pune since May 2011, he said.

On the other hand, Land Rover sold 25,862 vehicles, recording an impressive increase of 17 per cent compared to the same month in the previous year.
