JeeraJeera December contract gained Rs 152 and settled at Rs 14305 a kg as lower stocks prompted bargain-buying, offsetting fresh sowing due to clear weather and slack demand. Clear weather in Gujarat, the key cultivating state, is helping fresh sowing, which was hit by unseasonal rains earlier this month. In India, jeera is cultivated during winter from October to December, and harvested in February-April. In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera dropped -40 rupees to end at 14216.25 rupees per 100 kg. The contract made intraday low of Rs 14083 a kg and high of Rs 14350 a kg. Support for jeera is at 14142 below that could see a test of 13979. Resistance is now seen at 14409 above that could see a resistance of 14513.
