Commodity Outlook for Jeera by Kedia Commodity
Jeera futures witnessed heavy selling in the past five trading sessions. NCDEX Jeera futures ended down in the last five sessions on weak demand and increasing arrivals in major mandis. Jeera exports in December 2009 dropped by 28 percent to 2,500 tonnes on year, the Spices Board said.
The current year crop expected to be higher on favorable weather. March contract dropped Rs -5 and settled at Rs 11551 a kg. The contract made intraday low of Rs 11471 a kg and high of Rs 11649 a kg. The open interest added 1.81 percent to 9,639 tonnes, indicating short selling and volume traded as of now stood at 1,692 tonnes. Jeera prices augmented by Rs 100 per quintal in today's trading with the fresh arrivals of around 4000 bags against 4500 bags reported previously at Unjha Mandi.
