Colgate Palmolive (India), a trusted brand for oral care, personal health care and household care products, has reported surge of 38.56 per cent in its net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The company posted net profit of Rs 77.07 crore, against Rs 55.62 crore for the same quarter ended March 2008.

Further, the company also witnessed a growth of 15.83 per cent in its total revenue, which climbed to Rs 472.20 crore for the quarter ended March 2009, compared with Rs 407.64 crore for the same quarter last year. For the year ended March 31, 209, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 285.78 crore, against Rs 235.76 crore in the previous fiscal.

The total income of the company jumps to Rs 1780 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, compared with Rs 1550 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008.

The scrip of the company closed on Friday at Rs 474, up 4.36% compared to previous close of Rs 454.
