City Hall in Oklahoma City evacuated due to a suspicious package
Authorities have said that city Hall in Oklahoma City was evacuated briefly Wednesday because of a suspicious package that turned out to be a hat.
It has been reported that authorities also blocked off nearby streets while the bomb squad investigated the package, which ultimately was found to be harmless.
Oklahoma City's KOCO-TV has reported that it was the second run of the day for the bomb squad, which earlier responded to a call about an old artillery shell found in the yard of a city residence.
The resident had dug up the foot-long shell, estimated to be 80-100 years old, several days earlier but didn't call authorities until Wednesday.
The TV station has said that the city bomb squad monitored the situation until military personnel from Fort Sill could pick up the round. (With Inputs from Agencies)
