Cisco’s Van Pops Out For A DriveThe roll out of Network on wheels’ (NOW) Van programme was today announced by the networking behemoth Cisco across the Eastern region of the country. Furthermore, the company shared its plans to address the Information Technology (IT) needs of the growing Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment in the area.

The company’s NOW van will cover the key industrial cities of the eastern region including Durgapur and Ranchi, among others. It already covers New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Karnal, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar.

Basically the NOW van is a marketing as well as promotional van that comprises of mobile showcase of customized Cisco networking devices. It also includes advanced technologies such as Security, Wireless, Mobility and Unified IP Communications.

The van is supposed to visit the strategic industrial locations across tier I, II and III cities under the NOW programme. Furthermore, it also hosts live demonstrations for more than 100 customers per city in the country. The aim of the company is to tap the ever increasing SMB segment.

Malik further added, “SMBs in the region are waking up to the implications of technology as a strategic business tool and the NOW van program aims to address this awareness gap by showcasing a complete range of customized Cisco networking products for SMBs across technologies such as routing, switching, security, wireless, voice and video. It is amongst the largest marketing initiatives in India by Cisco and is a key pillar of our SMB strategy.”
