Cisco Launches New Virtualized Data Center Products
Cisco has launched new products and professional services. It includes Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) software, Cisco Application Control Engine (ACE) software, and Cisco VFrame Data Center software.
These new products and services will make the data services more reliable and efficient. Now, a virtual network will deliver dada at greater speed with operation security and orchestrating application delivery. An enterprise can offer services to the entire world from a single centralized data centre reducing cost of operation.
WAAS software release 4.1 will offer more efficient hosting services, greater application acceleration and video delivery for the branch office. It will be available in market for download in Q3, CY08. WAAS Live Video Streaming and WAAS Virtualization are separately licensed and costs around USD 2500 per device.
Cisco Application Control Engine (ACE) software release 3.1 will provide4 gigabits per second (Gbps) of throughput and up to 2 Gbps of compression capability. ACE is scheduled to be available in the market by Q3 and company will provide it free of cost to Cisco SmartNet customers. It will cost around USD 15,000 while compression appliance will be priced at USD 5,000 for a 1 Gbps to 2 Gbps compression. VFrame 1.2 will be available in Q3, CY08.
Cisco wants to increase its business prospectus in the world by providing virtualization technologies across the data center.
