Chinese lights sell like hot cakes in Kashmir during winters
Srinagar, Dec 17 : The demand for Chinese products like chargeable lights has increased here, on account of the frequent and long power cuts during the winter season.
During the winter season, people here face a lot of problems due to the power cuts.
Everyone cannot afford to purchase invertors and generators, so the Chinese lights and torches available in varied varieties are in enormous demand due to their cheap rates.
"These lights are very much in demand for the last six months as there is power shortage here. Lights that can last for three hours, six hours and eights hours without recharging are available. People take it and it is used in every household," said Mushtaq Ahmad, a light seller.
People prefer to purchase Chinese products compared to Indian products as they are very cheap and serve the purpose.
"These lights are very cheap and they work like invertors. Everyone cannot afford invertors. There is power shortage; sometimes there is power for one hour. People prefer these products as they are good and are cheaper than Indian products. Indian products are expensive and cost over 1000-1200 rupees. Absolutely similar Chinese products are available for 500-600 rupees and are original as well." Riyaz Ahmad, a customer. (ANI)
