London, Feb 9: A Chinese gambling addict’s wife is trying to kick her husband’s betting habit in a unique way – by making him wear 40-stone metal boots.

Poker addict Lai Yingying slogs around in the heavy shoes after his wife decided it was the only way to stop him gambling with pals.

Lai, of Xiamen City, said his wife had got the shoes specially made in wood and metal so he could not walk more than 20 minutes at a time.

“The shoes take 30 minutes to put on using a special set of bolts and screws,” The Sun quoted Lai, as saying.

"I don’t bother going anywhere in the evenings now,” he said. (ANI)
