Chelsea''s Luiz tells teammate Terry to ''accept rotation or play tennis''
London, Mar 7 : Chelsea footballer David Luiz has told his teammate and captain John Terry to accept the rotation of the squad or else play tennis if they want to play every game ahead of Europa League match with Steaua Bucharest.
According to Luiz, Terry, who was an unhappy spectator for the last three Premier League matches, should be aware of the fact that sitting out is part of the team game, the Mirror reports.
The center-back, who has also been deployed in midfield, said that although he symphatised with any player who have been benched during a game, if they still want to play every games then should consider moving to tennis or any other individual sport.
The 21 million pound-worth Luiz further said that it sometimes becomes necessary for a club to play other players as the game is about the entire team, instead of just an individual player, although he added that he also did not like to sit on the bench during a game.
Interim coach Rafael Benitez, who will rotate his side against the Romanian league leaders, agreed with Luiz, saying that the point is to convince the players that they cannot play every single game.
Chelsea''s fight to finish in the top four and qualify for next season''s Champions League is being put on hold for three cup games in the next week - starting against Steaua, the 1986 champions of Europe, in the impressive 55,600-capacity National Arena, the report added. (ANI)
