Nyon, Switzerland - Glasgow Celtic will face Arsenal in the pick of the Champions League playoff round matches following Friday's draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.

Arsenal were seeded for the draw while the Scottish side ensured their place in the play-off round by overturning a first-leg deficit to beat Dinamo Moscow 2-1 on aggregate in the third qualifying round.

Olympique Lyon have been pitted against Belgian side Anderlecht while VfB Stuttgart of the Bundesliga take on Romanian opposition in the form of FC Timisoara.

Sporting Lisbon have a tough task against Serie A side Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid have also been given a tricky job against Greece's Panathinaikos.

In other ties, Lithuania's FK Ventspils play FC Zurich, Sheriff Tiraspol entertain Olympiakos Piraeus, FC Salzburg take on Maccabi Haifa and FC Copenhagen play APOEL Nikosia.

First leg matches take place on August 18 and 19 with return legs on August 25 and 26. (dpa)
