CBI to file charge-sheet against Gali Janardhan ReddyThe CBI is preparing to file its first charge-sheet against former Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy for illegal mining as well as export of iron ore.

CBI joint director V. V. Lakshminarayana said, "We will file the charge-sheet in the CBI special court in Nampally very soon on the export of iron ore from the Obulapuram Mining Company belonging to Janardhan Reddy to other countries."

A team led by Lakshminarayana analyzed the records at the Krishnapatnam port in the Nellore district in the state. The team also looked at details of the iron ore exported between 2006 and 2010.

Lakshminarayana added that the team found that large quantity of shipments of iron ore was exported to other countries from Krishnapatnam port by OMC. They said that this was not possible with the consent of customs officials. He said that the team also questioned custom officials and collected the exports data.

They found that large quantities of iron ore were exported to China as well as other countries through the Krishnapatnam port. The port is promoted by Navayuga Constructions group. The CBI team is investigating weather OMC had raised any fake invoices and whether there was any collusion from the customs authorities.
