CBI appeals to SC to cancel Raju's bail

B-Ramalinga-RajuWhile the founder of the tainted Satyam Computers Services, B. Ramalinga Raju got a bail a few days back, perhaps the decision could not please the CBI team heading the investigation in this case. It is to be mentioned here that the investigation agency has recently said that as Raju is a very influential person, it is not safe to keep him out on bail as he may influence the witnesses.

It may be noted here that Raju is accused of a scam which is worth over Rs. 14,000. Deputy inspector general of police V.V. Lakshmi Narayana has recently said that as Raju is very influential, he may influence witnesses involved in the case.

Narayana is heading the CBI team investigating the fraud. It may be recalled here that the Andhra Pradesh high court granted bail to Ramalinga Raju on 18th of August against the two sureties of Rs. 20 lakh each.

While the ownership of Satyam has changed a couple of hands since then, the tainted founder confessed to fudging the books of Satyam to the tune of at least `7,136 crore over several years on 7 January 2009.
