Electric boat startup Candela has finally started delivering its highly anticipated C-8 Polestar Edition electric hydrofoil boat to pre-order holders. The Candela C-8 Polestar, as the name suggests, comes equipped with Polestar’s leading-edge EV batteries. This collaboration between the Swedish boat maker and the innovative EV maker has resulted in a remarkable electric vessel that blends renowned hydrofoil know-how with Polestar’s industry-leading battery technology.

The robust powertrain of the Candela C-8 propels the vessel while hydrofoils lift it to offer a smooth ride with minimal drag to the occupants. To produce this unique kind of electric watercraft, Candela paired its famous hydrofoils and C-POD electric motors with Polestar’s industry-leading battery technology.

Candela and Polestar announced the collaboration in 2023, enabling the boat maker’s flying e-boats to make use of Polestar’s EV batteries, which also enabled the watercraft to reach new heights or distances. It is worth-mentioning here that the Candela C-8 recently set a new world record by covering the longest distance within a period of twenty-four hours.

The impressive achievement was made possible by the vessel’s extra fast charging technology. However, those who don’t want the extra fast charging speed can recharge the vessel using Candela’s 11-kW 3-phase AC charger.

The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition also includes numerous premium upgrades surpassing the standard luxury C-8s. for example, the Polestar Edition includes an explicitly designed interior and upholstery.

The new grey exterior has been paired with the interior’s lighter grey tone, which gives the C-8 Polestar Edition a sleek as well as uniform look. The same marine-certified textile has been used consistently everywhere, including seats, cushions, sunbeds and even cabin roof panels. This classic Swedish color scheme can be noticed across a range of the European country’s EVs, e-motorcycles and e-boats.
