Button warns team McLaren to cut out mistakes ahead of 2013 title race London, Mar 8 : McLaren ace Jenson Button has warned his team that they cannot afford to make any mistakes in this season like last year if they want to be champions, ahead of the opening round of this year''s title chase in Australia.

The McLaren veteran said that his team will have to eradicate issues like reliability, mistakes and having an inconsistent season if they are to win the crown this year, the Mirror reports.

Button further said that everything has to be smooth and go according to plan, and urged his team to be relaxed and focus on every detail about the car and the race weekend, adding that they cannot afford to slip up this season.

According to Button, he leaves behind his ''nice guy'' persona as soon as he enters the cockpit, adding that he will give his best in order to win the title.

Although McLaren rescued the last season through relentless development work which harvested seven victories neither Button, nor former teammate Lewis Hamilton, finished in the top two in successive Grands Prix, all year, the report added. (ANI)
