AirAsia to launch direct Kuala Lumpur-Tiruchi flightMalaysia-based low-cost air-carrier, AirAsia, has announced that it intends to roll out its operations in India with a daily direct flight between Kuala Lumpur and Tiruchirapalli from coming month (December).

According to the sources, AirAsia would start its daily direct flight to Tiruchirapalli from Kuala Lumpur with a brand new fleet of Airbus A-320.

To draw the clientele, the airline offers a special fares of Rs 699 (excluding airport taxes, fuel surcharges, etc) on the Kuala Lumpur-Tiruchirapalli flight.

Adidas withdraws forecast for 2009

AdidasHerzogenaurach, Germany - Adidas, Europe's leading sporting goods manufacturer, withdrew its forecast for 2009 on Thursday after reporting higher turnover and stagnating earnings for the third quarter of 2008.

The brand with the three stripes said turnover from July to September was 3.08 billion euros (3.97 billion dollars), a growth of 4.8 per cent over the corresponding period a year ago.

Earnings before interest and tax came to 473 million euros, marginally higher than 2007's third-quarter figure of 471 million euros. Net income was 302 million euros.

The SAS Group posted a third-quarter pre-tax loss of 1.78 billion kronor (231 million dollars) compared to a pre-tax profit of 457 million kronor in the corresponding business period of 2007.

Third-quarter sales were 16.36 billion kronor, slightly up year- on-year.

Amazon.com to provide products in environmentally friendly boxes

On Monday, Amazon.com informed about its initiative under which it is working with retailers to cut back on the packaging to provide the consumers with easy to open packaging.

It has been decided by the Seattle-based company that instead of putting a pre-boxed or plastically sealed item inside another Amazon box, it will start shipping items in plain brown cardboard boxes.

MySpace and Auditude are working together with Viacom’s MTV to earn money from video clips put online by users in breaching of copyright. Auditude is an online advertising technology company.

It is quite common for people to update video content every day to popular sites such as YouTube or MySpace through the help of simple technology, even when they do not own the rights to the content being uploaded. This content is usually removed once the copyright owners complain about it to MySpace or Google, which owns YouTube. MySpace is owned by News Corporation, parent company of The Times.
