Telecom Minister Mr. A Raja has informed that government will provide more spectrum by the end of November as many telecom service providers are fighting for licenses. The meeting between Telecom Industry representatives and Telecom Minister ended up in clash between CDMA based and GSM service providers.

Department of Telecom has received over 250 applications for Unified Access Services Licences (UASL) by telecom operators in various sectors. The number is expected to go up to 350 as the deadline for applying of telecom licenses expires this Monday. The companies seeking licenses include HFCL, Shyam Telelink, Unitech, Hindujas, Omaxe group, DLF Developers and Sify to name a few.

Bharti Enterprises has declared addition of a second strategic partner in its retail expansion on Friday by adding up Filipino firm Del Monte Pacific Ltd in its business enterprise, FieldFresh Foods Pvt Ltd to sell agricultural products.

Bharti will get hold of Del Monte's Indian manufacturing facilities in Bharti's strategic move from retailing fresh farm produce to making processed goods.
