Verimatrix Announces ‘VCAS’ For BSNL IPTV ServicesTo protect IPTV services to BSNL customers, Verimatrix announced that it has provided its Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for IPTV.

BSNL, which rolls out IPTV in India together with Smart Digivision Private Limited (SDPL), eyes more than three million IPTV subscribers in 93 cities by the next three years.

BSNL’s service offerings consist of over 140 TV channels in addition to an on-demand movie library without any additional charge.

EDS will pick up the embattled Indian outsourcing firm’s IT contracts with Telstra, sources told The Australian.

Telstra chief executive Sol Trujillo, who leaves the company on June 30, sat on the board of EDS before joining TELCO in 2005.

Javala lost part of his left ring finger in a motorcycle accident in 2008 and his doctor, hearing what Javala did for a living, helped him fit a USB "finger drive," according to Javala's web site www. protoblogr. net.

Wipro Infotech Wins Rs 1,182 Crore ESIC Deal In a significant move, the state run Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has announced that it has awarded Rs. 1,182 crore outsourcing contract to IT major, Wipro Infotech.

ESIC is a constitutional firm which works under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. It is considered as the main implementing agency of social security scheme in the country.

TRAI Amends Rules For DTH OperatorsBefore making any modifications in price or composition of the consumer’s subscription package, the providers of Direct-to-home (DTH) service have to give prior notice of fifteen days to their subscribers.

The decision is a part of amended Quality of Services (QoS) standards and redressal of complaints regulations for DTH, which TRAI, telecom and broadcast regulator, announced on Thursday.
 
The amended rules also prohibited DTH operators from charging any fee towards visiting charges or repair and maintenance of equipment that has been bought by a consumer, during the period of warranty.
