NIIT Technologies, a leading Software services provider, announced that it has bagged a worldwide sourcing contract from US-based American Safety Insurance Services Inc.

The source close to the company said that under the terms of the order, New Delhi headquartered NIIT will offer migration, configuration and customization support for American Safety's suite of applications.

The source also revealed that the work will be executed cooperatively in an onshore - offshore model between India and the United States. 

HCL Technologies intends to complete $2 billion buyouts before 2011. The company is eager to enter in the Europe and Japanese markets. The CEO of HCL, Vineet Nayar said that the company would expand its global presence in the coming years. 

He said the company believes in transformational acquisitions besides Intellectual Property (IP) acquisition and geographical acquisition. The company would mainly focus on engineering services, enterprise application services, the newly-launched enterprise transformation services and infrastructure services sectors

The general manager of global research at Hitwise, Bill Tancer, who is a “data geek”, has found through his analysis that now people are more interested in surfing social networking sites rather than going thorough porn sites.

According to Tancer, “The rate of searches for porn sites has dropped from 20 percent to 10 percent. People are increasing their searches for social networking sites. My theory is that young users spend so much time on social networks that they don't have time to look at adult sites.”

The internet service providers would be issued guidelines and instructions by the Centre, since the instances of sending threatening e-mails by the terrorists who hack into wireless fidelity (WiFi) networks, are increasing day by day.

R Chandrashekar, Specail Secretary of Department of Information Technology, informed, “We are always in constant talks with the Department of Telecom on security issues. We might take some action soon.”

This step has been taken by the centre, as the terrorist group 'Indian Mujahideen' has been using unprotected WiFi network to send emails at the very same time of the serial blasts in Ahmedabad and Delhi.  

The rural e-governance program, undertaken by the West Bengal government, in association with microprocessor manufacturing major Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), was successfully completed in the state on Monday.

The program was undertaken with the aim to provide effective governance through computer penetration. This will take place within the Panchayati Raj institutions that covers 210 rural local bodies across 19 districts.

According to them, interested traders can purchase the stock above Rs 1565 with a strict stop loss of Rs 1525. If the stock market remains positive, the stock pricing becomes more attractive, and reach above Rs 1590.
