Britney’s £1.85m legal fees
London, Mar 25 : Pop princess Britney Spears shelled out at least 1.85 million pounds on legal fees since her dad took over her affairs.
The 27-year-old singer has gone through at least 17 legal firms and lawyers to get her life back in order, according to accounts filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, reports the Sun.
In the 14 months since a judge determined the `Toxic' hitmaker was not competent to manage her life and multimillion-dollar music empire herself, Jamie Spears has been in charge but the accompanying legal work has cost her estate a small fortune - sparking fears that lawyers could be bleeding Britney dry financially.
At a recent court hearing, half a dozen lawyers attended to represent the star, leading to an opposing attorney to remark: "Which one of you am I supposed to talk to?"
Lawyers are still working on her affairs, and the court will be asked to approve more fees in the future.
In papers obtained by the Los Angeles Times lawyers representing Jamie Spears presented bills for more than a million dollars, saying the Womanizer singer has made enormous personal and professional progress in the past year.
In the report, Geraldin Wyle, one of the many lawyers representing Britney wrote: "Since the initiation of the conservatorship, as a result of the concerted efforts of Mr. Spears as well as all the professionals involved, all aspects of Ms. Spears'' life have been stabilized and continue to improve. "
Britney is currently in the middle of world tour promoting latest album Circus. (ANI)
