Brit teen eats and sings while sleeping for 12 days

Shannon-MageLondon, Dec 28 : A teenager from Bolton, Greater Manchester, who is suffering from a rare condition, gorges on sweets and sings songs without knowing while sleeping for nearly 12 days at a time.

Shannon Magee has slept through birthdays, Christmases, a family skiing trip to the Alps and even her GCSEs because of the Kleine-Levin Syndrome.

The 17-year-old student has these episodes once a month, when she sleepwalks naked, hallucinates, nods off for 22 hours a day and becomes irritable when awake, the Mirror reported.

Doctors diagnosed her and put her on medicines used for epilepsy only after her dad Christopher looked up her symptoms online.

Magee said that she is glad that she is being treated but fears that the disorder will destroy her dream of becoming a nurse.

KLS is a neurological disease that can start after sickness. It afflicts just 45 people in the UK and can vanish suddenly. (ANI)
