Boy George ‘too fat’ to fight male escort, claims singer’s lawyer
London, December 4 : Boy George, who has been accused of handcuffing a male escort and beating him after a drug-fuelled nude photo shoot, is too fat to have fought the Norwegian, his defence lawyer claimed.
Escort Audun Carlsen had alleged that the 47-year-old pop star had tied him to his bedroom wall and thrashed him with a metal chain before the 29-year-old fled in his boxers in April last year.
However, the singer’s attorney Adrian Waterman alleged that George, who is being tried under his real name George O''Dowd, had gained lots of weight since his iconic Culture Club days in the 1980’s.
London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court heard that George, who has denied false imprisonment, could not have won any fight with the 6ft young man.
“With the greatest of respect to George O’Dowd, he is not someone you could describe as terribly fit,” the Sun quoted Waterman as saying.
“He has put on a few pounds since the 1980s. He’s not going to be a match for Audun Carlsen,” he added.
The jury had earlier heard that George had confessed handcuffing the young man to his bed though he had denied having assaulted Carlsen whom he accused of hacking his laptop and stealing pictures of himself after the photo shoot.
The case continues. (ANI)
