Melbourne, Dec 30 : A man driving his 2008 Aston Martin at more than 150km/h was stopped by the police, and had his car impounded for 48 hours after he was found to be driving over the speed limit.
The 350,000 dollars model luxury car was impounded under the state's hoon laws after the air wing detected the driver travelling at more than 50km/h over the speed limit on the Bolte Bridge.
The 33-year-old driver, from Derrimut, was intercepted by the Fawkner Traffic Management Unit in Coonans Rd, Pascoe Vale South, and he is expected to be charged on summons with traffic-related offences.
Acting Sen-Sgt Mark Beyers said that the police were out in force to catch dangerous drivers.
"If you drive like an idiot you will be caught," the Herald Sun quoted him as saying.
"The New Year is a time for celebration and not for police to deliver yet another death message," he added. (ANI)
