Islamabad - Pakistani rescue workers on Sunday retrieved the body of Czech Republic Ambassador Ivo Zdarek from the wreckage of the Marriott hotel that was attacked by a suicide bomber, officials said.

The death was confirmed by the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

A spokesman for the Czech embassy only confirmed that the envoy was missing since yesterday.

A security official said the body of the ambassador was delivered to the Czech mission. (dpa)
