BlackBerry Tour 9630, smartphone, announced recently by Research in Motion has added another feather in its cap.

With its new BlackBerry Tour 9630 model of smartphone, the company is sure enough to get a lion's share in the market. It is aiming both executives and mainstream consumers.

In an interview, Research in Motion Co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie informed that the new device will shortly be launched with Verizon and Sprint in the United States and Telus and BCE's Bell unit in Canada.

The new device is adorned in candy-bar shape with a full keyboard. It measures 4.4 inches high by 2.4 in. wide by 0.6 in. deep, and weighs 5.2 ounces.

According to the company, it is a "world phone," in the sense that it can easily access voice and data services on networks outside the one's home country. 

The much awaited device, Tour 9630 is loaded with multimedia features similar to those found in the BlackBerry Curve and Pearl.

On the other hand, company's rivals such as Palm and Apple in North America and Nokia in Europe are also on their toes to launch new products to bait customers.
