Bjoern Borg agrees to play for German lower-league club

Federer flattens Gonzalez after slow start in ParisBad Reichenhall, Germany  - Tennis legend Bjoern Borg has promised to play a match for German lower league club Bad Reichenhall in the summer season which starts on the weekend. Borg, 52, is listed as the top-ranked player of Bad Reichenhall's over-50 team. The Swede was approached by tennis team member Wolfgang Pichler, who is coach of the successful Swedish biathlon team.

"I have known him for a few years and have played (tennis) with him ... Some time ago I phoned him and asked him whether he would be interested in playing a match for Bad Reichenhall ... He agreed immediately," Pichler told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung daily.

Pichler said it remains unclear when the five-time Wimbledon and six-time French Open champ, will play the match in Bad Reichenhall.

"We will decide that on short notice ... It would really be fun if he plays for us," said Pichler. (dpa)
