Bhupathi-Knowles In Madrid Quarter-Finals

Bhupathi-Knowles In Madrid Quarter-Finals  The Indian-Bahamian duo of Mahesh and Mark Knowles entered into the quarter finals of Madrid Masters tennis Tournament after Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moya paved their way through by withdrawing from the second round match.

Bhupathi and Knowles were expected to encounter Nadal and Moya on Wednesday afternoon but could not as Nadal was reported to be suffering from intense pain in the lower back. The former duo however are yet to play a match in the tournament as they were given a bye in the first round.

The Bhupathi duo will now play whosoever will emerge as the winners of the match between team of Argentinians Lucas Arnold Ker-David Nalbandian and sixth-seeded Simon Aspelin of Sweden-Julian Knowle of Austria.

First Round bye was also given to the Third-seeded pair of Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy, who will now compete against Spaniards Pablo Andujar and Marcel Granollers in the second round on Thursday.
