Bharati Shipyard plans to construct Greenfield Shipyard in Maharashtra
Bharati Shipyard Ltd plans to construct a greenfield shipyard at Usgaon near the Dabhol port in Maharashtra. The yard would have the capacity to build vessels up to 100,000 DWT and will be fully operational in the next 2 years, an official release stated.
P.C. Kappor, Managing Director of the company said, "We are very proud to announce the Green Field Shipyard at Dabhol. The yard will be spread over an area of more than 250 acres. We have already acquired more than 180 acres of land. We are in the process of acquiring balance land."
The civil work and capital expenditure including installation of machineries at the yard has already commenced. Majority of the machineries and equipments including the Floating Dock of Swan Hunter Shipyard will be set up at Dabhol as they are capable of building vessels upto 250,000 DWT.
With the increased ship-building capacity, the new shipyard would also help boost allied industries, which are also on a higher growth phase and create job opportunities for more than 3000 people, the release added.
Bharati Shipyard Limited, a leading Indian private sector shipyard is engaged in design and construction of Sea-going, Coastal, Harbour, Inland crafts and vessels.
The stock closed today at Rs. 795 on NSE, down by 1% compared with previous close of Rs. 807. It has touched and intraday high of Rs. 835 and low of Rs. 780.
