Best Buy starts accepting pre-orders on Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC Windows Phone 8X
Weeks after Finnish handset-maker Nokia's unveiling of its new Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 smartphones last month, the company's flagship Windows 8 handset, Lumia 920, is now available for pre-order from bigwig US retailer Best Buy; which has also started accepting pre-orders for the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
Though there were reports making rounds of late about the looming opening of Lumia 920 pre-orders at Best Buy, recent reports have revealed that the retail giant has also announced the price-tag of the handset, along with disclosing the pricing of HTC's Windows Phone 8X.
Going by the Best Buy pricing details of the two handsets, the Lumia 920 will be priced at $150; whereas the HTC Windows Phone 8X will cost $100, probably for an 8GB version.
However, Best Buy has not disclosed any expected timeline for the availability of either the Lumia 920 or the HTC Windows Phone 8X; and has merely mentioned that both the smartphones will "ship when available."
Both the Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X handsets are now available to pre-order immediately for AT&T; although currently are no indications about when these handsets will be offered on Verizon.
Meanwhile, noting that even with Windows Phone 8 just round the corner, Nokia's future will probably continue to be somewhat murky, Canaccord Genuity analyst Michael Walkley said: "We believe Nokia's visibility remains limited for its business units and modeling 2013 is challenging."
