Benazir Bhutto unlikely to return before SC verdicts on Pervez Musharraf, NRO

Islamabad, Nov 3 : Former premier Benazir Bhutto is unlikely to return to Pakistan from Dubai before the Supreme Court (SC) gives its verdicts on petitions challenging the eligibility of Musharraf for a second presidential term and the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), PPP sources have said.

Bhutto left for Dubai on Thursday. She is likely to visit the US to deliver a lecture besides spending some time with her family in Dubai.

Sources said it was not yet clear whether the democratic process would continue in the country after the SC gives its verdicts, the Daily Times reported.

"The NRO has also been challenged in the Supreme Court and if quashed then all cases against Bhutto will be revived risking her arrest," they said while referring to rumours about the imposition of marital law or an emergency in the country.

About Bhutto's announcement to address a rally in Rawalpindi, they hinted at a telephonic address, saying that the rally could be addressed from anywhere in the world these days. (ANI)
