‘Bel-Air-Burglar’ behind Paris Hilton house theft arrested
London, Jan 23 : The crook behind Paris Hilton's house theft has been arrested.
Called the `Bel-Air-Burglar', Troy Corsby Thomas was the mastermind behind 150 thefts in Hollywood homes.
He mainly targeted mansions in Bel-Air, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, the Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills, and thus for the obvious reasons has been dubbed the `Bel-Air-Burglar'.
Troy is allegedly one of two leaders of a crew of thieves known as the Hillside Burglars, who are accused of leading a celeb-hunting gang that terrorized the rich and famous for three years.
The gang, which usually wore black clothes, ski masks and gloves and managed to beat high-tech security systems for years, even robbed designer shoes, Rolex watches and rare wines.
Troy was arrested on Saturday at an airport car rental shop.
Police revealed the breakthrough came from DNA evidence.
"These are very smart criminals. That's why it took so long to catch them," The Daily Star quoted a spokesman, as saying.
Harvey I. Saferstein, of the Bel-Air Home-owners' Association, said: "They were sophisticated. They were professional. No-one could stop them." (ANI)
