Hamburg  - Bayern Munich are to send teenage star Toni Kroos out on loan to Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently building up match fitness following an ankle injury, is to move immediately to Leverkusen until the end of the 2010 season, Bayern media director Markus Hoerwick confirmed to Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa Saturday.

No details were given about the finances of the 18-month deal.

Kroos has been seen as the rising talent of German football ever since he was voted player of the tournament at the Under-17 World Cup in South Korea two years ago but has made just seven appearances for Bayern in the Bundesliga this season, starting only twice.

It is expected he will have better first-team opportunities at Leverkusen where coach Bruno Labbadia is more likely to play him in his favoured position directly behind the front two strikers. (dpa)
