Barclays Wealth launches India operations
Barclays Wealth has entered the Indian market by launching its facility in Mumbai on Wednesday. A special ceremony in this regard was attended by cricket legends Kapil Dev, Allan Border and Clive Lloyd, besides company executives.
Barclays Wealth is a leading financial services provider in the world. It would provide private client advisory, succession planning and investment services to well to do people for their wealth management.
Chief executive of Barclays Wealth India, Satya Narayan Bansal said that Indian financial market needs to be well organized for wealth management. India's wealth management size is currently about USD 100 billion to USD 200 billion.
Bansal said that it is the right time to start Indian operation as it can understand its clients deeply and help them by providing efficient financial services.
Chairman and chief executive, Asia Pacific, Barclays PLC, Robert Morrice said that wealthy people across the globe are pushing their funds in the company due to its reliable and efficient services. He said that the company would start its operations in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata in the next six months.
