The business-to-business technology distributor of Phoenix, Arizona – Avnet, Inc. on Tuesday launched a new storage practice – StoragePath – the latest of university programs for its VAR community – focused on storage optimization. Avnet claimed that StoragePath is focused on hardware, software and services associated with storage, and it is based on three-day course instruction format, like the Avnet's other SolutionsPath programs.

The director of the storage solutions practice for Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, Kim Hofmann stated that StoragePath is designed to focus on four specific areas under the broader storage category – Storage Infrastructure Design & Management, Storage Utilization, Data Loss Protection & Recovery, and Application Optimization. The VAR community can attend Avnet's StoragePath University three-day course program, and can access a range of services via the Avnet’s OneTech Services branch.

StoragePath is the fifth of and the part of Avnet Techology Solutions' SolutionsPath practice program, which already provides vertical-centric programs like HealthPath and GovPath, and technology-specific programs like VirtualPath (focusing on virtualization), and SecurePath. The goal of these programs is to target high-growth vertical markets and technologies.
