Auto exports to grow by 10-15% this year

Automobile-ExportsAccording to the government, it expects that automobile exports to grow by a healthy 10-15% this year. Notably, as demand from Europe is expected to rise, the government is confident of the fact that the Indian exports market will be able to a decent hike in number in the current fiscal.

Joint Secretary in the Department of Heavy Industry Ambuj Sharma said that the government expect a 10-15% in export numbers in the current fiscal as compared to last fiscal. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Indian exports grew by over 17% in the last fiscal.

Sharma also pointed out the fact that as the European nations that are growing will lead to an increase in consumer spending and demand for auto sales and will be beneficial for the automobile industry.

While the last year's exports were good due to the scrappage program both Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai motors India has recently said that expect a minimal growth in exports in the current year and will be looking at new markets to maintain the last year's benchmark.
