Australian stocks slump as investors take profits
Sydney - Australian stocks dropped Wednesday as investors took profits after a strong run-up earlier in the week.
The ASX 200 gave up 95 points, or 2.7 per cent, to close at 3,516.
Bucking the trend were gold stocks with Newcrest Mining Ltd and Lihir Gold Ltd rising by more than 2 per cent. (dpa)
