Arizona couple blocked by a judge to sell unborn baby
Records have shown that an Arizona couple who allegedly tried to sell their unborn child in Utah has been ordered by a judge not to try and go through with the sale.
The Salt Lake Tribune has reported that Judge Terry Christiansen of Utah's 3rd District court has ordered Alison and Gary Stuckey to appear in his courtroom Tuesday.
The newspaper also noted that the couple was found on Monday at a Salt Lake City hospital and served with an order to appear.
It was further reported that a foster couple who are adopting three of the Stuckey's other children told authorities they offered to take the child when it is born, but said Alison Stuckey, eight months pregnant, told them an attorney in Salt Lake City offered to give her $6,000 for the baby.
The Tribune reported that the foster couple also told authorities Stuckey allegedly sold another child illegally in Utah in 2007.
Judge Christiansen has signed a protective order giving custody of the child to the Department of Child and Family Services. (With Inputs from Agencies)
